PJStoneson aka Paul: I first became interested in Dungeons and Dragons in 1979 or 1980 when I found a rack of D&D books and miniatures in of all places a store that focused on doll houses in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Shortly after this, a full fledged game shop opened nearby, and for several years I played in games there, and at the homes of friends made at the store. Though at the time I wasn’t a great Dungeon Master, I talked a few of my non-gaming friends into trying the game out, and for a few years we gamed at least semi-regularly.

As various online services became popular, I signed up for the GEnie, and began gaming online in the official TSR RoundTable and eventually became an online Dungeon Master in their chat rooms.

At around this time, I went through a stretch of about 6 years where I made the trip to Milwaukee for GenCon every year running both my own games, and running RPGA games.

In 1995 I moved to North Carolina, and though there was no gaming shop nearby, I met some of the local gamers through the local comic shop.

Marriage and kids have limited my game time over the past 10 years, but I’ve remained interested in role-playing, and continued purchasing most major, and some smaller Dungeons and Dragons releases. As my two children are getting older, I feel like I have a bit more time to get involved in gaming again. While the area I live in isn’t conducive to a lot of face to face gaming, I’m trying to be more aggressive in finding local gamers, plus trying to introduce my children to gaming.

This brings us to DungeonBriefs.com. I’ve been blogging for a number of years, and as I’ve been trying to become more active in gaming again I decided I would try and share my thoughts and experiences. While I recognize that not every post I make will be of interest to everyone, I hope everyone can find some posts that are of interest to them.
